Frequently Asked Questions 1. Q: Why is the canopy black, instead of a camo pattern? 7. Q: Will the blind stay in place in high winds? A: In the case of a strong wind, it may be necessary to stake down the blind. This can be easily accomplished by putting 2 ordinary lawn wire stakes down through the holes in the umbrella piece on the trekking pole end. 2 more stakes can also be put through the 2 small fabric loops on the umbrella canopy in the case of very high winds. The dual canopy allows wind gusts to pass through, which helps keep the blind stable Tech Tips 1. Remove the "Rubber Umbrella" piece from the trekking pole, it will not be needed unless walking in snow. This allows you to shove the stake down deeper for a more stable blind setup in soft ground 2. You can easily fit the Black Sheath over the folded canopy with a slipcover on. The slipcover will stay in place, and you can use the drawstring on the sheath as a wrist strap when walking. Some users prefer to simply put a large rubber band around the bottom of the slipcover when folded, so they can deploy the unit quickly if needed, yet still walk with it. For aggressive trekking, it is recommended to remove the slipcover to reduce weight. The unslipped weight of the sheathed device and trekking pole is about 1.9 pounds 3. In the middle of the day, you can make a great shade umbrella by opening the umbrella in standard fashion, and screwing the trekking pole into the handle of the umbrella to make a long shaft. Spike it into the ground like a beach umbrella. Great for rainstorms or waterfowling also 4. When filming with the camera adaptor (setup as a blind), if you leave the "handle piece" slightly loose, you can grab the handle, and smoothly pan your camera left and right. This keeps your hands from being exposed above the blind. If you have a remote for your video camera with remote zoom, and an LED Display facing you, you can do all the video work from the concealment of the blind without getting "busted"! |
