The leaves are turning, the temps are starting to drop, and the haunting song of elk bugles is beginning to ring in the deep canyons.  September is here, and it is ON!

We have been getting some great Product reviews, testimonials, and Trophy pics this Season already!  And it will just keep getting better and better!

In April of 2010, we sold the very first SLIP System online, to Simon Simons from Washington State;  he bought the SLIP System and the Open Country Camo Slipcover.

2 1/2 years later (last week), we received an awesome pic and testimonial from Simon.   He used that very same gear to get into a shooting position and ambush a great 3×3 muley in his home State, and he managed to get the kill shot in the above video.    From Simon,  ”My Slip system let me get in bow distance and I was able to wait and ambush a 3×3 Mule deer coming down the trail. He never seen me until I popped up and nailed him at 41 yards”

We have had some sucesses of our own; Cory Gabrielson, VP of Elk Mountain Gear, spotted a couple of nice blacktail bucks feeding on an oak ridge, and he was able to move underneath them using the SLIP System as a shield, with the Timber Buck Decoy Slipcover.  He stuck the system down next to a large digger pine, drew from behind the pine tree, and leaned out and was able to make a kill shot at 40 yards on this great blacktail buck:

This Morning, I was rewarded with an awesome testimonial from one of our Customers, Justin Jenness:

“Jeff,
Here are the pictures that I promised you.  One of the pictures you can see the slip system in the background still wrapped up.  The guy in the picture used it mainly as a trekking pole which was invaluable to him as he would not have been able to cross the river we had to cross, because we had to balance on a log and he was able to use the slip system as a balance pole.  Also he used it to hike the entire way up to the goat, and with as exhausted as he was trying to get to the goat he used the heck out of it.  I asked him several times if he wanted to put the slip system in my backpack and every time he said no because he liked using it, and it was helping him make his way up the steep mountain.  Thanks again”.

Personally, I had a tough early bow Season, but I did manage to shadow a nice blacktail forky for about an hour last weekend, using the Moo Cow Decoy in open brush country.  I finally worked into a position under 50 yards (the buck actually approached me out of curiosity), but I couldn’t get my bow drawn.  I ended up getting a 60 yard broadside shot on him, and unfortunately missed it under the brisket.   It was a great morning!

So now, the ultimate adventure begins for me, as my 18 year old daughter and I head into the elk woods;  She has been accepted into the National Marine Corps Band, and this will be our last adventure together before she heads out to Basic Training.   Whether we tag out or not, we are going to have the time of our lives!  Stay tuned!
